Wiveliscombe Community Centre

Volunteering at Wiveliscombe Community Centre

VOLUNTEER HELP NEEDED

The Centre relies on volunteers to help to run it

We have recently had a number of offers to assist us in keeping the Centre functioning, and a big thank you to those who volunteered.

We are always open to further help, especially from anyone able bodied, or who would like to join us as a Trustee. It could be anything from an hour or two every so often or regular assistance in checking that everything is running smoothly and that hirers are leaving the place ready for the next users.

There are currently two vacancies we are very keen to fill.

Assistant Caretakers – To assist the Trustees in showing new hirers where everything is, checking before and after hire, setting up and taking down tables and chairs, etc., for groups who are physically diadvantaged. Also to deal with/report any issues with the safe running of the Centre

New Works & Maintenance Co-ordinator – To identify new and remedial work needed at the Centre in order to maintain the building and outside areas and co-ordinate the various maintenance schedules. Also to deal with any issues with the safe running of the Centre

These are voluntary positions and would suit someone who has plenty of enthusiasm for keeping the Centre running for the benefit of everyone in Wiveliscombe and the Ten Parishes.

It is YOUR Community Centre, owned by and run by the people of Wivey and the local area

Currently, we cannot afford paid help, apart from a part time Administrator funded through a lottery grant and a contract cleaner.

Applications should be made, in the first instance, by e mailing
info@wiveliscombecommunitycentre.co.uk

Please help us to keep it running smoothly

Thank you
